Dear Sun...

We have been friends for some time now, haven't we?

Very close friends, I might add.

There are very few times I can remember you not being around when I was growing up

in AZ.

Now it's only a matter of time...

Soon there will be snow, you will be hidden by grey clouds for 4 to 6 months,

and we will be left to entertain ourselves and stay warm inside.

I'm sure you know this,

so thank you for fighting your way through the cold to show your face at least one last

time this past Thanksgiving Weekend.

It's as if you knew Trevor Jay had those days off and you wanted to make them extra special.

Thank you my good friend.

At least we will be together a little longer in our old stomping grounds.

Waiting...

We have been doing a lot of waiting lately:

Waiting for yummy Thanksgiving and all of it's festivities.

Waiting for aunt Rachel to come at the end of the month.

Waiting to be in the warm sun in AZ come December.

Waiting for Christmas to spend time with family.

Waiting for Trevor Jay's busy rotation to be over, so we can have him back to ourselves.

Waiting to hear planes by the back door...

yes, you heard me right,

Hudson has added a new obsession to cars...

planes.

Any noise heard outside must be a plane and is too exciting to miss

so,

We spend many-a-days waiting to catch one outside the window

and it goes a little like this:

Waiting patiently for any sign..

until a noise is heard..

so he darts to the window, only that sound was no plane..

So that darn dog gets a yellin' at for tricking him again.

..and Reese thinks it's so funny she spits up her lunch, laughing.

We can't wait to be with you all soon.

So you are probably going to throw up at even just the sight of our faces after this post.

But we have grandparents and fam who live so far away who want to see them all.

So I'm sorry for so many pictures of us.

But not really, because I love them all.

My greatest friend, Katie, who is a photographer too took some family pictures for us.

Like she says on her blog, we just played.

Seriously, it did not feel like a photo shoot at all.

We laughed, played, and had a ball.

And it doesn't hurt that our kids love her to death.

I love my little family.

It has been a few years of constant learning {lots of trial and error, HA!},

especially out here on our own,

but they have also been years of growing together

and loving eachother.

I'm excited for all that's ahead

A Third of a Year/ Fall Festivities...

Hold the phone..

When did she get so big?

Her first bite of rice cereal she wasn't quite convinced.

However, soon she was licking her chops for more.

While smiling the entire time of course.

Gosh, we love her.

At four months our girl:

1. smiles... constantly.
2. Love to roll over and talk to herself in bed.
3. Grabs her feet and gets into a litte ball
4. Talks, talks, talks
5. Squeals if you walk by her and she feels like you should have picked her up.
6. Smiles whenever her big brother does anything
7. slides herself across the floor.

Other festivities of our Fall include:

1.Of course an annual Trip to Patterson Farm's for

apple cider glazed donuts

apple fritters

pumpkins

beautiful scenic walks

2. Shaker Heights Ward Trunk-or-Treat

(I will have better pics of their costumes later so just hang on)

3. Annual Dinner in a Pumpkin

this year with our favorite cornbread muffins.

(a Tradition I owe to my bestie)

4. Just trying to soak in every minute with Trevor Jay before he starts the hardest 4 months of Medical School.

What a Trooper.

Dear September...

Woah! {Meant to be said like Joey from "Blossom"}

Where have you gone?

You have buzzed by with the last of our Ohio sunny days

and are about to let October usher in some chilly fall weather

That's okay though.

I love the fall.

It is my favorite time in Ohio.

Although, in all fairness, you have been pretty fun this year.

This month we have:

1. Gone Home to Utah

where we...

*Spent time with both families and had so much fun, we were like this by the end of each day.

*Saw some of our greatest friends.

{and wish we could have seen more}

{Collette & Chase and their beautiful babies}

*Got some desperately needed updated family pictures by my sis, Michelle.

*Trevor Jay and I went on our traditional "Ultimate Date" to Salt Lake City.

We walked everywhere.

Rode Trax everywhere else.

Got some much needed face time.

And loved every minute of it.

2. Watched this Girl Grow Like a Weed.

3. Celebrated this Boy's Birthday.

Can't you tell he's pumped.

{upset that the frosting was "all done" and that the

cars were part of the decor}

Today marks the two month birthday of Reese Jean.

I just saw the last 13 years of my life come to an end in a two hour film.
Sound dramatic? Yes, but it's true.

Bombs really were bursting on this year's 4th of July

We have felt spoiled with Mama B.

She lets Trevor Jay and I escape for a little one on one time,

which we figure will get a little harder to do once she is gone back to beautiful AZ.

So we have been taking advantage by doing things such as:

1. late night movie theater runs

2. trying gelato for the first time

3. fancy dinner dates

4. drives with good music and even better conversations

Then we get to come home to sweet faces who have missed us.

It is so fun to be missed.

and now that the sun is showing it's face,

we have been going on some enjoyable outings.

I left this year up to Trevor Jay

and, I dare say, I could not have planned a more perfect night of festivities:

A beautiful drive throught the Ohio woodland that led to...

{could I look any more ginormous}

A romantic italian dinner overlooking a rolling stream.

Followed by a peaceful hike down said stream,

while I did one of my favorite things.. took pictures.

Lastly, enjoyed our campfire nestled in a grove of trees, while fireflies twinkled all around.

{sounds cheesy, but it really happened}

Lots of face time.

Lots of deep talks.

Lots of excitement for our future and our little family.

everything's changing...

First of all,

Happy Birthday to my love.

He is 26

and is only getting more handsome.

I had a picture of us, but we both look like goons, so I thought I would spare you all.

{actually I thought I would spare us the embarrassment.}

In this past week that our beautiful girl has been home,

we have come to realize she is the best baby.

So content.

So cuddly.

So sweet.

She enjoyed her first bath immensely and loves to get them often.

She also likes to play dress up already

It is a happy day in our house with our two little kiddos.

Jinx...

Trevor Jay always makes fun of me

On Friday, Dr. C said that I am progressed enough that I could have this baby any second.

I debated whether it was time for my mama to hop on a plane and get here or whether I would be jinxing myself.

But I called her anyway and she is on her way as we speak.

Saturday was sunny.

So we packed our stuff and headed out for a bbq.

The Ellingson's joined us with their too-cute-for-words boys too.

Happy Mother's Day and a Terrible Phone Picture...

What a babe, right?

Yeah, so those of you who know me know I love my mom

or "mama" as I sometimes call her.

I call her up probably 3 times a day to talk about nothing

and every time she answers I say, "you're sick of me aren't you?"

and of course she will always say, "No, I'm not and stop saying that."

If that's not love, I don't know what is.

Happy Mother's Day Mama!

So I know this picture is terrible quality, but take it or leave it.

The best part of my Mother's day was having both my boys around.

{more on that later}

Trevor Jay surprised me with camping chairs for the whole family.

He knows me too well.

Hudson carries his just about everywhere saying "chair, chair"

and asking us to set it up no matter which room we're in.

It just happened to be the kitchen this time.

I love this boy.

I love being a wife.

I love being a mom.

I can't wait to be a mom a second time in just about six weeks.

Dear Tuesday[and yes mom, there are pictures too]...

Have I told you lately that I love you?

Because I do.

You let me have a whole day with my Trevor Jay, with no obligations.

No studying for tests, no homework,

I don't even think the word "school" was mentioned.

Amazing.

So what did we do with all this borrowed time?

1. finally tried the bakery down the street that we have heard so much about.

Let me tell you "On the Rise" is definitely just that.

I recommend the sticky buns [Trevor Jay would say get the walnuts]

2. family outing to the Cleveland Museum of Art

Call me an uncultured swine [thank you toy story], but I can honestly say

I am not a fan of modern art.

Tell me, what is the significance of an art piece of a classroom setting where there is a

chalk board in front of desks lined up,

yet there are no kids in the desks, just electric fans, cleaning supplies, etc?

Yeah, still trying to figure that one out myself.

However, the 14th century armor and antique furniture... huge fan!

Altogether a marvelous time.

3. spent time just watching our little boy be exactly that, a little boy.

[Now we know where all the "surprises" Trevor Jay has found in his shoe are coming from..

I cannot thank you enough for that time before the storm.

Now it's on to studying even more than normal, so my dear hubs can do great on the boards.

Which he will by the way..

because if you didn't know already, he is amazing.

And so smart.

Like crazy smart.

And I love him.

Dear February...

I'm done with you.

Don't get me wrong, you are still one of my favorite months,

but I'm tired of the snow, the cold, the ice.

I am not kidding when I say ice either.

The ice storm you let pass through here was uncalled for.

Shutting off our power for a full day in 18 degree weather, making us stay in a hotel to stay warm.

Ridiculous.

So to show my protest, I am already putting up my March header.

I just have a feeling March will be warmer.

What is that you say? It's all in my imagination?

Maybe it is, but a girl can hope, right?

I'll let you try to make up for it next year.

sunny with a chance of sickness...

Well hello there.

I've missed you all, we have just been sick sick sick in our house.

However, before it got the best of us, we did have some fun 

with the sun that showed its face for a few days.

We had a picnic in our front room with the sun shining through our gigantic window.

{hey I said the sun was out, not that it was warm enough to go outside}

Hudson decided to come hobo chic to the picnic.

No, seriously we aren't quite sure how this happened, 

but quite hilarious nonetheless.

 Then the sickies happened. 

Two weeks of under-the-weather/puffs-plus-lotion/if-i-watch-toy-story-one-more-time

crazy sickness.

Now that we are better, 

{and thank goodness for that} 

we are back to our usual shananigans, such as:

Doing that laundry.

Taking advantage of the sun.

Making up for our missed V day celebrations.

Including:

1. The traditonal homemade V day card for my main man.

2. Flowers from Trevor Jay

3. Festive Cupcakes

4. A night out on the town to the famous Melt Grill

 What a lovely LOVE day.

Sunshine in Boots...

So it's sad when you jokingly call your boy Sunshine [mimicking the flick "Remember the Titans"] for so long that he now thinks it's his name.

Upon seeing this picture of himself, without a second of hesitation he said,

"Sunshee."

Anywho, Sunshine here has a new obsession with his snow boots.

He puts them on and struts along in them like he is going to chop down a tree with one swipe.

I bet he could too.

Except outside does not agree with him much right now.

Not when it's 13 degrees and still looks like this.

Brrrr...

At least I have "Sunshine" in my house, right?

Hand-packed and Hats...

 Ever heard of this flavor?

That's because it doesn't exist.

This little miracle only happens when you live right by a Ben and Jerry's 

and they fill the carton with a fresh batch of your favorite flavor [in this case: Oatmeal Cookie Chunk].

The carton cow has it right.

After a long day, can I just say I love my husband for showing me some love with this surprise.

Good man.

My Grandpa Bradshaw is always found wearing a trucker hat that

rests just slightly on top of his head, 

never pulled completely down.

As far as I can remember, this hat was among the rotation.

So a few years ago, when he asked me if I wanted to keep any,

of course the answer was yes.

I had to have the Hawaii hat.

It is only fitting that as I caught Huds going through my hat box

one day, that this would be the hat he likes best.

I like to think he will become as wonderful as the head

that once filled it.

A few of 2011's Resolutions...

Resolution #1: Cook More

Thanks to my wonderful mom bledsoe, I now have a new cook book that will get me on my way and I am proud to say that I have kept this goal since being home. [hey, this is a big deal for me.. and for my future posterity]

Resolution #2: Be More Organized

I am much more sane when I know where stuff is, it's great! 

Resolution #3: Love our Second Munchkin as Much as our First

Yup, it's true! We [along with everyone else it seems] our going to have another Baby B in June! We just love Hudson so much we needed another one ha!

Are we crazy?

Sometimes I am pretty sure we are, but we are so pumped!

Resolution #4: Continue Loving this Family of Mine

White Out..

The view from our window.. no this is not a black and white photo.

It is 4:00pm, yes that's pm,

and my boys are sleeping.

 It is snowing so much I can't see my neighbors house across the street.

We have one candle lit

and our house still smells like the sugar cookies I popped in the oven for Trev's after-school snack.

All I can think about is how excited I am to turn on our Christmas tree tonight.

It will look so warm through the blankets of snow.

These are the winter moments I love.

Watching the cold [from a safe distance, of course],

wrapped up in a warm blanket.

I could do without the being sick part though.

Alls [sorry trevor jay, I had to use that word] I need is a cup of swiss miss and marshmallows.

3. Rely on the Lord- Trust me He knows what's best.

Dear Fall...

Remember when you looked this lovely just a couple weeks ago? 

Well after the blizzard of a day we had on Saturday,

I feel it's safe to say that you are gone.

However, we are headed to my wonderful AZ where it is 88 degrees

and the sun is shining, waiting to greet us.

I just wanted to let you know that you will be missed

because I am sure any trace of you will be gone when I return.
